WALL OF FAME

Inspiring Greatness, Through Sport to Life

Through the UXi Rugby Institutes, there are several opportunities for players to be seen and taken up into semi-professional and professional teams. Team selections, such as the Union U/20 and U/21 teams are common and even senior team selections are possible.

Through this programme, student-athletes are given all the tools they need to develop into successful, professional players.

Since its inception, UXi Sport has assisted in
achieving the following in rugby:

  • 2 Springbok Players

  • 1 Blitzboks Player

  • 1 South African Tag-Rugby Player

  • 2 Namibian World Cup Players

  • 90+ Union Players

  • 20+ Varsity Cup/Shield Players

  • 2 Zimbabwean National Players

  • 3 USA College Players

  • 14 International Club Players

  • 1 Blue Bulls Assistant Coach

  • 1 Lions Assistant Coach

  • 1 Cheetahs Strength & Conditioning Coach

  • 5 U/20 and U/21 Union Coaches

  • 3 International Coaches

  • Out of all the players in the system over the years:

    > 65% are employed;
    > 15% are playing nationally or internationally;
    > 20% are still in the UXiRI system for their 2nd and 3rd year development to further their rugby careers and studies

Their eXtraordinary achievements:

At the Academy, Kurt-Lee was a fast-footed winger, who showed eXtreme amounts of talent and skills. There was never a doubt in anyone’s minds that Kurt-Lee would make it all the way to the top!

Kurt-Lee was also selected as a URC Elite 15 player during the Vodacom URC Awards 2022/23.
