The cost of tertiary studies in South Africa is more affordable than any other country in the world, however many students and parents are unprepared for the investment when it comes to post school studies.
With many accredited public and private institutions in South Africa , high-school graduates are spoilt for choice, however navigating the difficult decision of what to study and where, with the resources available is no easy task, and can become a very stressful journey for many. There is also very little time spent in educating scholars on career options, scarce and critical skill shortages, employability of particular graduates, international opportunities, subject choices and workplace readiness.
This information becomes important when evaluating the investment it will require for post high school studies versus employability and salary expectations. This leaves many students with a feeling of disillusion once graduated and realising their earning potential with the skill sets that they have acquired.
UXi Sport understands the complexities of the job market in South Africa and its various provinces. It has therefore invested into offering a wide variety of study options to ensure the optimal employability of its graduates. The economic sectors of every province are unique and this becomes important to evaluate when deciding where you reside and or wish to live and work in the future. The most important emphasis must be on “life after sport”, and although being a full-time athlete sounds like a dream for many, it is not a reality for the majority. Becoming a full-time professional athlete is only a reality for a small percentage of individuals and even so, age and injuries can limit the ability to earn potential.
