Unique Mainstream Rugby Career Programmes
UXi Sport is proud to announce its RUGBY CAREER programmes all underpinned by National SAQA accredited qualifications, practical workplace experience, mentoring and job placement for all successful graduates!
These practical programmes all aim to develop and train professional coaches for the sports industry in various disciplines, where a demand exists for these specific skills. These pathways lead to employment opportunities at various levels of amateur and professional sport.
Coaches placed at schools who coach at a school level for 5 consecutive years, will be eligible for their SACE number and then become fully employable as teachers for Physical Education and or Life Orientation.
Opportunities exist within the UXi Sport system for further national and international internships.
RUGBY COACH PROGRAMME
Are you a rugby-enthusiast with a strong a passion for the game of rugby? However, you don’t want to be a professional player – you would rather like to coach, train and develop aspirant players! This is your opportunity to make a thrilling career out of the game you LOVE. There is no need to settle for an office-bound job when your heart is still out on the field. This programme provides our students with the perfected blended, combining coaching science theory with daily hands-on practical coaching exposure. Student-coaches will have a full coaching-experience programme, with access to a variety of practical coaching experiences at school, club, Union and Institute levels. Student-coaches will also be assigned mentor coaches, whereby they will observe different opinions, views and coaching styles. With the guidance of our team of High Performance coaches, you will start to build your own coaching portfolio by coaching a variety of aspects, whilst choosing to focus on a specialist field. You don’t ever have to give up the game that you love – this programme turns your PASSION into your CAREER for life!
STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING COACH PROGRAMME
Do you have a passion for the fitness and physical exercise industry, and love rugby, but you’d rather like to become a specialist in Rugby fitness, strength and conditioning? Then this is the program for you! If you are eager to learn about the human body, training anatomy and strength and conditioning, then you will thrive in our Rugby Strength and Conditioning Program. This program provides our students with the perfected blended approach to strength and conditioning, combining the theoretical component with daily hands-on practical strength and conditioning exposure. This program allows you to become a fitness expert, both in and out of the gym. You will learn and understand the physiological mechanisms of training; the different training modalities available; understand what specific training is required in a rugby development cycle, pre-and post-season, for every position of play; and learn how nutrition impacts training. This program will give you BEST start to your professional fitness career, both IN and OUT of sport!
VIDEO AND GAME ANALYSIS PROGRAMME
Sometimes the most thrilling thing about rugby isn’t the result itself – but the data and statistics behind the game! If game statistics, data and analytics and technology in general interests you, then you may be the next best video and game analyst or performance coach! Video and game analysis, which is a branch of High Performance Sport Science, is taking the sporting world by storm. Now more than ever, athletes and coaches and desperate for data-driven feedback to their rugby skills. This first-of-its-kind programme helps aspirant sporting analysts gain an understanding of how to use Video and Game analysis to contribute to coaching of players. Student-analysts will learn the techniques and skillsets needed to successfully record, code, analyse, interpret and provide key feedback on rugby games and practices, from start to finish. Student-analysts learn how to professionally code and extract information, with exposure to a variety of software packages and developmental applications.
